Terms & conditions

Please ensure that you read all of the following terms and conditions before requesting a commission. By commissioning me, this means that you have properly read, understood, and agreed to the terms listed below.

General terms:

  • Unless requested and agreed upon to not publically share the finished artwork (e.g. for gift purposes), I maintain the right to upload finished artwork to social media, to use finished artwork for advertisement and sample purposes, and to use finished artwork in my portfolio.
  • I maintain the right to decline a commission for any reason, such as a request falling under a subject matter that I do not wish to draw, or if I feel that a request surpasses my skill level.
  • All communication in regard to commissions must be discussed via email.
  • You must be eighteen years old or older to request a commission, regardless of the content of your request.
  • All commissioned artwork is for personal use only, you may not use it for commercial purposes or to generate profit.
  • You may not use my artwork for NFTs or other crypto-related activities, or as training fodder for AI and ML models.
  • You are welcome to share the finished artwork to your social media or to use as an icon, banner, and so on, but credit would be appreciated. You may not claim the artwork as something that you made.
  • Finished artwork will be provided in the form of a .png file at 350 dpi in its original size. The file will available for download via a private Google Drive link. No physical copy of the commissioned artwork will be provided.

Information regarding pricing:

  • The base rates for my commissions are as follows:
Lineart Flat colour Full colour
Bust £20 £40 £80
Thigh up £40 £60 £100
Full body £60 £80 £120

  • The pricing of my commissions is not fixed and will vary depending on the presence of additional characters and complexity.
    • Each additional character will cost 50% of the base rate. For example, a thigh up flat colour commission featuring two characters will cost £90 (as opposed to £60 for a single character).
    • Commissions which feature items that are considered complex may incur an additional charge on top of the base rate, and the cost of the additional charge will depend on the degree of complexity. For example, a full body full colour commission featuring a character wearing a full suit of armour may incur an extra charge compared to a character wearing relatively plain and simple clothing. Any additional charges related to complexity will be fully discussed and explained before I send the invoice. Items which are considered to be complex include:
    • - weapons (e.g. swords, guns, magic staffs, etc.)
    • - intricate and detailed outfits (e.g. armour, dresses with excessive frills and patterns, etc.)
    • - animals (including furries)
    • - props (e.g. chairs, umbrellas, etc.)
    • - machinery (e.g. robots, mechs, etc.)
    • Backgrounds will not incur an extra charge, though they will be limited to simple plain colour, gradient, or pattern backgrounds.
Information regarding payment:
  • Payment must be paid in full and up front in GBP (£) via PayPal.
  • Once we have discussed your commission and you are happy for me to proceed with your request, I will send you a PayPal invoice for the commission when I am ready to start work on it. You will have three days (starting from the day the invoice was sent) to pay for the commission. If you fail to pay the invoice within three days, then I will cancel the invoice and remove you as a client.
Information regarding revisions:
  • You are allowed one major revision free of charge during the thumbnail stage, and three minor revisions free of charge either during or after the thumbnail stage.
    • Examples of a major revision include completely altering a pose, changing the perspective, drawing a new facial expression, etc.
    • Examples of a minor revision include changing a colour or two, slightly altering a facial expression (e.g. changing the position of the eyebrows) or pose (e.g. changing a closed fist to an open hand), changing the pattern on a piece of clothing, etc.
  • I will not perform any more major revisions once the thumbnail stage has been approved.
  • After three minor revisions, any more revisions will incur an additional charge that must be paid in full before I proceed with any adjustments. This charge will be sent as a separate PayPal invoice, and the cost will depend on how extensive the revisions are.
Information regarding refunds:
  • I aim to complete all commissions within two months of the original invoice being paid. If I am unable to do so, I will offer you a full refund via PayPal.
  • If you wish to cancel a commission after paying the invoice, I will offer you a partial refund (50%) via PayPal.

The commission process

The following is a rough guide of my commission process:

  1. Please email me your request at heartgrooooove@gmail.com, with your title mentioning the word "commission". Please provide a description of what you would like to request, including poses, facial expressions, interactions between characters, etc. In addition, please provide as many visual references as possible - even stick figure drawings are incredibly useful. The more visual references the better!
  2. I will read through your request and decide if it is something I want to proceed with. If not, I will email you to inform you that I will be rejecting your request. Otherwise, I will email you to confirm the details and price of your commission.
  3. At this moment in time I am running commissions using a three person wait list. You will be assigned either first, second, or third position in this wait list, via a first come first served basis. You will be told what position you are in the wait list when I confirm the details and price of your commission. If you are assigned either second or third position you will need to wait longer before work starts on your commission, as I only work on one commission at a time. If you are on the wait list and no longer wish to commission me, please email me as soon as possible. I completely understand that uncontrollable circumstances happen, or it may be a case that you just don't want to commission me anymore - regardless of the reasons, please let me know as early as you can. If more than three people wish to commission me then I will take a note of them and email them when there is a space available in my wait list.
  4. If you are happy to go ahead with the commission, I will send you a PayPal invoice once I am prepared to start your commission. Once the PayPal invoice has been paid in full, I will begin work on your commission.
  5. I will create a thumbnail sketch which will show the basic pose(s) and facial expression(s) (as well as other extras such as props, if requested), and email it to you. If you are happy with the thumbnail sketch I will proceed further ahead with the commission.
  6. I will update you with a watermarked image of your commissioned work when I have finished the lineart stage, the flat colour stage, and the full colour stage. You may request minor revisions at these stages.
  7. For all commissions, I will provide a final watermarked update just before I add any finishing details so that you have the opportunity to request any minor revisions.
  8. I will email you when your commission is complete, and provide your commissioned artwork via Google Drive.
